STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
This agency was created to meet the needs of adopting families in Louisiana by delivering ethical, efficient, legal, and quality services as required by the State of Louisiana, the child placing agency/attorney, and for international adoptions, requirements as outlined by Immigration and Naturalization Services. We specialize in the pre-placement home studies of adopting families, post-placement supervision of adopting families and other services; such as, adoption home study updates and referral services.

Adoptive family pre-placement home study services are open to all residents who meet the Louisiana criteria for services and the criteria for the state, country, or agency with whom they are working. The agency will assist the facilitation between the family and the placement agency by providing the home study and post placement services.

A LITTLE ABOUT MARY MARRS....

Mary is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Louisiana. Mary has worked as a social worker in helping children since 1980. She began working intensely in the adoption arena in 1993. In addition to completing adoption home studies, she began working for an International Adoption Agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma, (Dillon International), as the Adoption Supervisor. One of her primary job functions was to approve home studies that were completed across the Country to go overseas. One of the highlights of her experience was traveling to Calcutta, India to visit an orphanage and bringing a baby boy home to his new family in Florida. She absolutely loved being a part of the team effort to bring children home to loving families.

In 1995, her family moved to Southern Louisiana. Since then, Mary has worked to continue in that effort. She began by establishing herself as a reputable home study provider. She is perhaps best known in the international adoption circles, as she has much knowledge in that area. Mary established Adoption Home Studies, Inc., a licensed agency in 2000, in response to a growing requirement for the Adoption Home Study to be provided by a licensed agency. Mary cherishes the life experiences she has in helping families build their family through adoption and desires to continue for years to come.
